One comment I would like to add to this is that bdule would need to be able to properly track read messages across twitter and facebook. Other clients that I looked at could only do this properly on twitter but not on tweetdeck.
Agreed. I like to keep my columns clean so I know when new items come. There isn't a way to clear a column once I've read it all. I'd prefer to keep them all empty, watch new items come in, empty them out (after I click, reply, etc) and so on.
